Check out this year’s flier:

qBio Bootcamp 2015

Please send applications & inquiries to qbiobootcamp at gmail dot com.

Are you fascinated by both biology and physics, and do you want to know what it’s like and have fun doing both? You can get hands-on experience with world experts at UCSD and SDSU in the new field of quantitative biology.

When? July 6 – 17, 2015. Full days Monday to Friday and possibly part of Saturday

Where? UCSD Department of Physics and SDSU Department of Biology

What will you learn? Bacterial molecular genetics, microscopy, microfluidics, and analysis

Who should apply? Motivated and curious undergraduate students with minimum GPA 3.2, or 1st year graduate students, from any institutions in the greater San Diego area. Inquiries from all exceptionally motivated students (even high-school students!) are welcome. Students from under-represented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

Fees? Free. Thanks to the National Science Foundation, we will provide everything, including lunches and snacks, needed to complete the 2-week course. Independent study credit may be possible; please contact the directors (below) for arrangements.

Applications due April 15, 2015! Please send your 1-page resume, including contact information, and 1-page description of your interest and motivation. Providing 1 or 2 letters of reference may increase your chance of acceptance. All application materials should be submitted by April 15, 2015.

Inquiries? Send an email to qBioBootcamp at gmail dot com and check the bootcamp website for updates at http://bootcamp.qbio.ucsd.edu/.
